So this post is a tad bit late, but I am finally getting to it. Before School Started My family and I took a trip to New York, It would be a 4 day trip with us leaving on the 5th day. We used airBnb to reserve our stay, since it was the cheapest way, cause wow is New York Expensive.

The first day we explored town and ate at some fancy restaurant whose name escapes me, $25 burger!?!, granted that it was a really good burger. The day was planned in such a way that would make the day very flexible in case of any issues so we spent the day walking around and exploring. We saw the M&M Store, the Hershey’s Store, Nintendo Store, and most importantly Time Square. I would definitely suggest taking one evening to briskly walk around.

We got the CityPass which saved us a lot of $$$$$$. With the pass we were able to see New Yorks Best Known Icons while saving more than a Buck. We went to go see the Statue of Liberty on our second day, and it is a pretty and majestic as one would imagine, yet smaller than portrayed in the movies. With the pass you get a free Audio Book and a Ferry ride back and forth to the main land. We spent a good 2 hours here, relaxing and drinking some lemonade. After which we visited the culture New York had to offer, no not yelling cab drivers but instead little Italy, Korea Town and Little Tokyo. Each place had its own charm. Little Italy had no shortage of over priced pizza places as well as beautiful lights strung from building to building. Korea Town had a monument and many small shops for food, massages and BOBAAAAAA *Drools. Little Tokyo, was a bit more spread out and less defined but we did find a store with almost any figuring you could want.

On Day 3, we decided to go to the Metropolitan Museum of art, and it did not disappoint. You will get lost in the endless mazes of tombs, Armour, art, pottery, you name it they have it. This place isn’t just for art or museum snobs but its a good place to look at old things and learn a thing or two, all while escaping the hot afternoon sun. Central Park was also nice to pass through, to see old couples on a stroll and families enjoying the day. Poke-stops are also not in short order.  Take a canoe ride or visit the small carnival, or just walk and take in the beauty, the park is massive and has something for everyone. I would suggest going to the “HighLine” right around sunset or mid-afternoon to maximize the view. The HighLine is an old railroad converted to hipster walkway. A beautiful sight for sure, this is a must see. Take to the Chealsea Market, located  near the HighLine for some cuisine aka yummy food, and window shopping, go on an empty stomach and you wont be dissapointed.

Day 4, Was a sleep in day, but involved taking a stroll on the Manhattan Bridge and going to Madam Tussaud, a wax museum. The Museum is well worth the time and money if you are really found of celebrities or wax. Some of the figures are very life like its pretty cool. We also took the evening to go to Ripley’s Believe it or not, this was a fun family place, but if you’ve been to one in a different city, save your money, its not too different. I would suggest to end your last night in a double-decker night tour on a  bus for beautiful night time views. It is WELL worth it and a memory that you will cherish. Seeing that big beautiful city, really helps you admire the diversity and charm that is New York.
